Cuntong, Wang, Ph.D., Professor of Demography. Dr. Wang embarked on his academic journey at Peking University, where he earned his Ph.D. through a prestigious collaboration with the University of Michigan. He further honed his expertise with a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently, he holds a professorship at the Central University of Finance and Economics, where he is deeply engaged in research and teaching across multiple domains including population health, sociodemography, economic demography, marital and family dynamics, as well as social statistics and econometric analysis.

Dr. Wang’s scholarly endeavors focus on pivotal societal issues such as the impacts of China’s family planning policy on women’s health and educational outcomes, the causal relationships between early-life nutritional imbalances and adult mental health, and the advancement of innovative causal inference methods in social science. His leadership in significant research projects has notably influenced policy and academic thought, both nationally and internationally. Selected for the Ministry of Education’s New Century Excellent Talents Program in 2013, Dr. Wang holds several distinguished positions: he is a board member of the Chinese Population Association, executive member and chairman of the Health Big Data Branch of the Chinese Sexology Association, vice-chairman of the Youth Sexual Health Education Branch, and president of the Beijing Sexual Health Education Association. He also serves on the expert committee of the National Health Commission’s second Men’s Reproductive Health Expert Committee and is an executive director of the International Chinese Association for Sexual Health’s 6th Council.

A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Wang is a member of the Population Association of America (PAA) and a training specialist in quantitative social science methods for the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP). He is also a distinguished visiting professor of social science methodologies at Peking University and a collaborative researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. Wang’s prolific output includes nearly a hundred articles published in both SSCI/SCI-indexed international journals and prestigious Chinese academic journals such as Social Sciences in China, Sociological Studies, and China Population Sciences. He has authored six influential books and has been at the forefront of numerous national social science foundation projects, coordinating major national natural science projects and various strategic ministry-level initiatives, making him a central figure in shaping policies and research strategies that address key demographic challenges.

王存同,人口学博士、教授。博士毕业于北京大学(与密西根大学合作培养),博士后研究员就职于美国伊利诺伊大学(University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)。现任职于中央财经大学,从事人口健康学、人口社会学、人口经济学、婚姻与家庭、社会统计及计量经济分析等领域的研究与教学。他长期从事的重要项目包括:计划生育政策对中国女性健康结局及教育的影响研究、生命早期营养失衡(营养不良或营养过度)与成年精神残疾的因果分析、以及前沿因果推断方法与技术在社会科学研究中的推广、应用与创新等。

他于2013年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才计划,现兼任中国人口学会理事、中国性学会常务理事、中国性学会健康大数据分会主任委员、中国性学会青少年性健康教育学会副主任委员、北京市性健康教育学会会长、国家卫健委“第二届男性生殖健康专家委员会”专家组成员、国际中华性健康研究会第六届理事会常务理事、美国人口学会(PAA) 会员、国际人口联盟(IUSSP)社会科学定量方法培训专家组成员、北京大学社会科学方法培训特聘教授、美国伊利诺伊大学香槟分校合作研究员。曾在SSCI/SCI等英文期刊及《中国社会科学》《社会学研究》《中国人口科学》等中文期刊发表论文近百篇,出版著作6部;主持国家社科基金一般及重点项目4项、横向课题12项;以子课题负责人身份参与国家重大自然科学基金2项、国家部委横向课题10余项。
